With the limited space in Delhi and adjoining places, Greater Noida has emerged as an alternate destination for the people who are unable to find ample housing options in Delhi and adjoining cities of Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Greater Noida is fast developing as an industrial hub. The coming up of some IT, textile and multiproduct SEZs has also contributed their part in making it as a superior hub. According to market experts, development of infrastructure projects is another factor that is drawing an increasing number of eyeballs in Greater Noida like Asian Paints, Honda Power Products, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, Moser Baer are already there. Many more national and international giants are planning to set up their base in Greater Noida.

RESIDENTIAL With the imperatives of growth and development, the problems of cities in the proximity of Delhi in National Capital Region have become complex. Just a half hour drive from Delhi and you enter in an uncongested, pollution-free environment with world Jass facilities for better living. It is being developed on 20,000 hectares with wide roads, underground cabling and drainage system; the city offers amenities and infrastructural facilities of international standards. The residents will get the CNG supply by the next year. Here twenty five percent of the open area is reserved for green cover, which ensures good health.

The GNIDA is providing the world-class infrastructure to cater to the specific needs of IT industry. A project for setting up a world-class Biotech Park at Greater Noida has been initiated. This park is proposed to be spread over 100 acres and would cost around Rs. 31 crores.


The authority is keen to make the area an experience to live with. End number of marts, world-class commercial complexes, transport hub, expressway, airport, etc are coming up in the region to enhance the facility for the people living and even thinking to live in the region.


Based on the pattern of International marts, Export Promotion Council for handicrafts is planning for India's first state of the art Exposition mart for Cottage and Handicraft sector.


Taj Expressway is an extension of this 6 lane Expressway from Noida to Greater Noida upto Agra. The Taj Expressway would provide direct access to the Taj Economic Zone, International Airport and Aviation Hub proposed to be constructed along the Taj Expressway. It will also ease the heavy traffic on Delhi-Agra NH2.


After the initiatives of concerned authorities and Government, Metro rail has been approved for Noida and Greater Noida. This will enhance the growth of the region. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made its way to Noida and if all goes well, will be ready before the Common-wealth games in 2010. There are possibilities of connecting Noida and Greater Noida through monorail by June 2009.


International Airport hub has been planned close to Greater Noida city to facilitate tourism, cargo, aviation and non-aviation facilities.


Twenty acres of land is allotted by GNIDA to Caparo Group Ltd for setting up a Socio- Cultural Centre, which will foster cultural, social, academic and business related programmes for exchange of ideas arid fostering of human relationship.


The proposed transport hub would spread over an area of 600 acres. It will function as a major transfer point for rail transit operations. The site identified for the integrated Transportation Hub is the existing Boraki Railway Station. Further the hub will be combined with vehicle parking. Warehousing, pedestrian information


GNIDA is planning to develop a prestigious project of Night Safari on the lines of open Zoological gardens already established in China and Singapore. This is in order to create awareness about environment and ecology along with a source of recreation to residents and spur tourism. GNIDA has planned this unique concept so that visitors can view the animals at the night in the open wilderness. Earlier there were power shortages, but with the coming of Reliance's Dadri Power Project in coming years the power shortage problem would automatically be solved. As there would be abundant power in the area.

Greater Noida has reached the saturation point as per earlier plan. But the growth and expansion, once started, can't be stopped. The way people are looking at Greater Noida for housing options, as there is hardly any space left in Delhi or NOIDA, authorities in Greater Noida has left with no option but to start phase II for housing schemes. The Authorities have already started acquiring land for new housing as well as commercial schemes.
